Spring at Buroff Family Farm

Spring seems to have finally arrived! We are getting busy planting and preparing for summer and Farmers Markets. After several spring snows, it feels great to be outside working on the garden and beginning to plant out some of the seedlings we’ve had indoors.

Signs of growth and new life are popping up all over our little farm.

The only livestock on our farm currently are chickens, and with the warmer weather and longer days they are beginning to lay more consistently. We plan to get a few more chicks later this month to add even more to our egg production, We love getting these beautiful eggs.

This past Saturday gave us sunshine and warm weather, and we took full advantage of it to get the garden started.
We planted sugar snap peas, onions, cabbage, bok choy, brussel sprouts and spinach.

Indoors, the tomatoes and peppers are going strong, waiting for their turn to be planted. These plants love much warmer weather and will not be put in to the ground until later in May.
